Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU) is named after its founding father as a gratitude of honor. Father Saturnino Urios, a Spanish missionary who led the establishment of the institution in 1901. Formerly a boys' school, it was given recognition to be an elementary school in 1927 by the government. It opened its high school department and got renamed to Father Saturnino Urios HIgh School by merging with the former Butuan Parochial School's high school department due to the death of its founder. In 1950, the school opened its college department and again renamed to Father Saturnino Urios College. It got promoted into a University later on in 2006. On June 30,2008, the elementary and high school department have been moved to a new campus, namely, Morelos Campus, on June 30,2008 and is located in Brgy. Libertad, Butuan City. Along with the implementation of K-12 program, FSUU also abide the said implementation. For the Senior High School program, they offer the following strands:

•Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM)
•Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS)
