Agusan National High School (ANHS) is a public high school located at A.D Curato Street, Butuan City. The school was initially established in Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte in 1915 and was first named 'Agusan High School' which was an extension of Cabadbaran Elementary School. However, due to the miniscule amount of students enrolled, it was re-established in Butuan City and once again, an extension of another Elememtary school, Butuan Central Elementary School (BCES) back in 1921. Six years later, the school became an independent unit. There were 24 pioneering students who graduated in this school. The school was then closed due to World war 2 and was liberated in 1945. The school was then converted to a city high school back in 1955 under the jurisdiction of Municipal Board Resolution No. 946 and Provincial Board Resolution No. 883. Fast forward to 1975, it was converted to a National High School by Presidential Decree 733. Hence, getting the name Agusan National High School.
